An 8-Hour Scenario Paintball Event!
Splat Tag • Hudson, Wisconsin
Browncoats vs. Alliance Forces

$30 in Advance ~ $35 Day of Event
Pre-register at www.splattag.com or CC Military Surplus
(I'll let you know when the pre-registration begins)

The game is basically, Serenity Valley, but the field will be divided up into the many planets from that series. Persephone, Miranda, the planet where Jayne is a folk-hero, etc. Each base at Splat Tag will be one of those planets. Players would be divided into the two factions, the Alliance and the Independents, or Browncoats. The third element is the Reavers, courtesy of Damage Inc. They will start at the northern-most plot of land and come in any direction to mess with either side, causing havoc.

Generals for this game are Malcolm Reynolds, and The Operative from the movie, Serenity. They, in turn, will send out their troops to not only hold planets, but locate various objects on the field and bring them back for points. Anyone coming to the game dressed up in costume would garner additional points for their side.

Tanks are considered spaceships for the game. Each tank will drag a length of rope behind it allowing up to five players to grab it and be "transported" from planet to planet. They cannot let go anywhere else, but only on planets. Players are invulnerable to personal attack while onboard. The only way you can eliminate those players is by eliminating the tank itself with a Nerf rocket.

More information will follow soon. :D

GAME UPDATE

GAME UPDATE

Hey Fugazi,

I just worked out a deal with a master gun-upgrader, to create my "VERA," the gun I'm going to give away as top prize. It's a Tippmann A-5 custom made to be unlike anything anyone else might have. All upgrades are made from metal, honed to perfection, and carefully handcrafted to fit beautifully.

Here are some pictures of "Vera."

I will have a Website created real soon to allow players to start preregistering so you can jump in and be a part of this exciting game - and have a chance at winning VERA! Good luck to you all,

That is the sickest gun I think I've ever seen. Out of curiosity, what's that monster weigh in at?
I'm the guy with the Pro/Carbine, and yes,
I know, it's old-tech, but hey, I'm oldschool lol

While I don't know offhand, I do know that she's a beast, but she'll treat you well. This marker is very much a one-of-a-kind. NO ONE else has this marker upgrade. The retail value is estimated at $1,800.00. No joke... :D

This is verbatim by the mad scientist/craftsman who built "Vera."

************************************

Basic A-5 reciever and grip are all that are stock on this thing. Here is where the fun starts.. and the $$

The custom all metal folding buttstock assembly..
1.) A custom (flat flush mount) metal butt stock adapter from Pro-Team Prods was $55.00
2.) Marui MP5 metal folding stock base with sling swivel off ebay (quite rare) was $60.00
3.) Custom designed skeletonized 3 piece aluminum machined slotted, welded, ultra cool styled butt stock welded and bolted to the MP5 folding base. My cost was $75.00*, real cost would have been $250.00

The custom Tri-Rail and extended rail system.
1.) Tri-Rail picatinney for M4, AR15 flattop design modified to fit on A-5 reciever, custom machined relief for cocking handle and round hopper base. My cost was $35.00 I did the machining.
2.) Custom made 14" long aluminum picatinney rail extension machined to the exact mil-spec drawing the military uses made by Oakdale Precision, and precision welded to the front of the Tri-Rail for true straightness and strength. My cost was $65.00, real cost would have been $180.00

All custom made 6061 aluminum sheet metal rails, shrouds, cages, brackets etc, are all CAD lay out, close tolerance lasered, formed, welded, ground and polished by Proto-Fab sheetmetal Co. Some of the last minute brackets I made or modded myself as final fitting and assembly required. All forward shrouds have PEMS and stainless button head screws installed to precision mount the next shroud or bracket above or below it, so they can all be separated if preferred.
1.) Custom designed (G36 styled) forward rail support mounted under front rail and on top of barrel shroud. The detail of slots, holes, and angles is very intricate but very strong.
2.) Custom semi-triangular barrel shroud with slots to lighten and simulate venting for heat dissipation. Had to modify the A-5 barrel adapter to fit straight and tight over it flush to the reciever body.
3.) Custom cage shroud (mounted under barrel shroud) made to hold a 7-8 oz. Co2 tank. Front has slotted alum cover held on with screws to change tanks. It also has brackets welded in the bact to securely mount it to the front of the A-5 body. The custom asa adapter and coiled tubing is in this shroud.
4.) Custom channel bracket to hold the M203 Thunder Grenade launcher. Mounts directly to the bottom of the tank cage/shroud.
5.) Custom (interesting) rectangular shroud to conceal the Pro-Team 'Intruder' expansion chamber feeding air to the A-5. The shroud is a friction fit over a bracket welded to the magazine well. Allows for quick removal if needed.
5.) Custom magazine well M16, M4, styled with mods to allow mounting of shrouds and air tube to make it's way through the magazine into the expansion chamber.
My total cost for these custom parts by Proto-Fab (long months waits, favors, barter as well) was $250.00 The real quoted actual cost would be over $700.00

The other parts:
1.) Classic Arms M203 launcher, with upgraded metal barrel, shortened to match front profile of the PB barrel and shrouds. (also modified so it can only be mounted in the custom made bracket) Total cost was approx. $200.00
2.) PEC custom 14" miro honed barrel, slot ported (military style bird cage flash hider) re-theaded and internal mouth chamfer (A-5 bbl specs) by Oakdale Precision. Very accurate barrel with good paint. My cost was $80.00. Real cost would have been $150.00
3.) Real AR15/M16 30rd. Orlite theromoplastic magazine, modified to fit in the mag well, and allow the air hose to pass through to the expansion chamber. Cost was approx. $30.00
4.) Pro-Team Products "Intruder" expansion chamber with male asa adapter and nickel brass push tube fitting for Co2 tubing. Total cost was $80.00
5.) Cooper-T female tank receiver modified with welded top and retapped in the side for the brass fitting and push tube fitting to go on tank in shroud/cage. Cost was approx. $40.00
6.) Misc items like over 50 SSBH screws holding this beast together, front sling swivel mount, air tubing, misc adapters and spacers, primer, paint, etc... I can't remember all of it.. lol. At least $35.00 (very conservatively)

Wow, I actually never really costed this thing totally like this.. I see why.. Yikes this cost a fortune.. lol.

These costs are conservative but fairly accurate. My actual raw $ cost including my own A-5 marker, (not including 80 plus hours of time) was about $1230.00

The actual cost as I have stated above quoted to have made as one piece only from a real machine/sheetmetal shop with welding etc. and not including the marker would have cost a conservative total of over: $1800.00

You know, that just might be the perfect thing to use against about 200 opponents shooting at you. Just run, yell ahhhhh, and shoot! With that and my replacement tiberius, I'd be just crazy enough to do it alone.

Website is here!!

Postby Badger on Sun Jan 13, 2008 10:52 pm

Here it is, guys!!!

I promised you a Website for this game, and it's here. I still have some tweaking to do, but for the most part, it's live for you now.

http://www.bsvscenariogame.com/

Please, go and sign up early for this event. The sooner you do, the sooner you reserve a place for this game. Thanks, everyone, for your patience.

Sincerely,

Badger

P.S. Spyder, I'm still waiting on your response to being the Alliance general. Let me know if you're interested, bro.

OK, here's some more enticement to pre-register:

I just got done talking with Tippmann, and they are donating a brand new X-7 to add to the pile of prizes - on one condition...

The X-7 must go to only a pre-registered player.

I figured since they were so cool to help me sponsor this event, I'd comply with their wishes. Therefore, pre-register now and get your chance at winning a Tippmann X-7 too!

Actionvillage.com has also graciously added tshirts and $50.00 gift certificates to the growing stash of prizes! More sponsors are on the way, so stay tuned.

Hey Fugazi,

Can anyone of you get a hold of Spyder for me? I've tried emailing him, PMing him, calling him, all with no results. I know he's now an OTR trucker, but he's not even answering his cell phone for me. I'm looking for a possible commitment from him to general for my Battle of Serenity Valley game, but if he can't I'll need to find a second for it. Let me know what you find out, and thanks so much for helping me.

Not only did I get a hold of Spyder, but he has graciously accepted the role of Alliance general for this game. Help me congratulate and thank him for his service in this game! :D

Well, everyone, it's finally home with me.

Image

Vera is fully paid off from the original maker/owner, and she's now safely with me. I'm the second to the last owner. The last owner is one of you. However, the only way you get a shot at winning Vera is to sign up for this game. Sign up at either my specific Web page:

http://www.bsvscenariogame.com

OR in person at CC Military Surplus is Maplewood. She needs a good home, everyone!!
